Default Viper Alarm Key Battery Replacemnt-easy? what can go wrong?

Hello, I hope this thread finds you Camaro owners / operators / enthusiasts well,

Basically is this "project" idiot-proof"?

What I worry about is IN THE COURSE OF REPLACING THE BATTERIES WITH NEW ONES, messing up the programming or pushing the wrong button and engaging the Lock system which won't turn the car on, unless a Bypass switch which the Car Alarm Shop only knows where it is per a Tech at Viper who I spoke with yesterday

the bypass switch is a pencil eraser black head that's somewhere on the underside of the dashboard according to this viper tech
(Not a tech who is a viper, but a tech who works for viper LoL jk)

Background Info.
I purchased a Viper alarm system in about 2015.

The key alarm FOB requires 2 nickel size batteries and I had them replaced in 2022.

It (the FOB key) is currently SOOO worn out on mine--- that one can't even see the Lock Icon and Unlock Icons

(I don't drive or use the car often, therefore the car alarm key doesn't get much action)

I noticed some extra pressure needed to turn the alarm on and off, so I thought I'd buy the 2 batteries and as a Preemptive Strike proactively replace it soon

Info. from Viper's website

Quoted, in part....

You open not by using a screw but by using a flat head screw driver (super skinny, i opened it with a super thin, sharp putty knife) This will expose the circuit board and the battery. The battery on newer remotes is usually a CR2016, CR2032, etc, these batteries are about the size of a nickel and you will want to replace the battery once every 12 months to ensure proper and reliable operation. Some models such as the HD have a rechargeable battery that does not need to be replaced under normal use. (MY emphasis added) - cambigcat

Video on how to replace the batteries:

Thanks, in advance, have a smooth, happy, safe Memorial Day weekend 2024

yea, this should be so easy to replace without doing irreversible damage
my posts are somewhat full of anxiety due to nerve damage

I like Phillipians 3:14 "I can do all things through Christ who Strengtheneth Me"

(even after health issues)

Wish this forum had a like button,I liked the Drew Carey show too.
My handle I've used on other forums,I bought a new Harley-Davidson Electra Glide in 2000 about the same time I first got internet.

i liked the above, too

by the way, replaced the batteries in the alarm key fob and
The car batteries have to be put with the positive + mark inside the " metal clip" upwards on top facing you

careful, the circuits are exposed and everything inside looks delicate

The entire fob has to be gently closed and sealed by pushing down on it, too

It beeps easily and the blue light is brighter

Obviously if the car is parked far away, 1 has to get close to it, within signal distance

just to clarify for newbies,

the nickle size batteries 2 of them, have 1 side in other words, that is clear with nothing just a blank silver and the other silver side with a + mark logo
that + mark side has to be up facing you, not downwards
