Tranny Problem!!!
Yet I have another problem with my car...I drove a bit in the morning today and the car was fine until now, an hour later from parking it, this loud clunking noise came out of nowhere. I referred to my manuel and it said to check the driveshafts connections because it clunks under initial load (when I first step on the gas after stopping). I checked underneath it and there is this loose bolt that I cant get back in because I think it's not lining up right. And it looks like the driveshaft slid out a bit. Refer to pic at....msnusers.com/CamaroSS, the bolt is facing the passenger side.[/align]
The same thing happened to me when I reinstalled my tranny. It was my torque arm though, soI had to really tighten down all the bolts to torque specs cuz I didn't do that initially. It does take a little work to get it aligned. I had to have the car lifted a certain way to get the torque arm close to alignment(my car has lowering springs in the front only), then I adjusted the rest.
Oh, and my driveshaft looks like that too.

I got it, turns out that the torque arm slipped out because the top bolt for the drivers side trans mount bracket stripped and fell out. So the the torque arm fell out also and I guess the space between the driveshaft and tranny made it knock and clunk at the initial load. Thank god the tranny wasn't bad.
Glad you found out it was before you started taking things apart! When I put it back together, it was a little hard to line up. I did put a polyurethane torque arm bushing cuz my stock one broke on pieces when I unbolted the torque arm! Might as well put one on since you're there.
