I got a 98 trans am and its all stock with an auto transmission. just the other day it started shifting really late and hard. i just got an oil change and they topped off all the fluids so it shouldnt be low. its usually just first gear when the engine winds out and rpms are at 4-6 thousand and then it will shift hard into second and into 3rd really FAST!! is my tranny going out or is it the tranny filter?? let meknow asap

 

do u have a shift kit? a shift kid will cause to change really hard and aggressively

 

i have a t-56 in my car and every time i shift i get a thump, at pritty much the same rpm that u were talking about, but at first i thought it was my clutch, but im not sure either. also when i accecelerate the shifter jumps up(and than i hear that bang).

 

well 4 - 6 grand is a lot of rpms, and urs is a 6 speed, his is an auto. urs could be a various number of things

 

do u have any ideas of what it could be?
