I HAVE A 95 Z28 TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC SAID IT WAS LIFTERS OR TIMING BELT ANY IDEAS. THANKS

most likely its a stuck/bad lifter

THe mechanic you spoke to is a smart guy. Lifter is usually the problem. Try running Lucas through your oil and see if that stops it. Otherwise... Have fun fixing it =P

Hmmm...I wonder if your mechanic is a smart guy? Did he really say timing belt, or are you repeating what you thought you heard? It has a timing chain, not belt.
And, noisy fuel injectors can sometimes fool one into thinking it's the lifters. A trained ear can tell the difference, with the injectors having more of a clearer clicking sound.

lol did he tell you that your blinker fluid resevoir and flux capacitor was bad too?

I was talking about the lifters part lol. Because my car did the same thing. Then my piston ring ate itself into oblivion... Go figure eh? Lol
