i noticed there is a little rectangular black box underneath the passenger side carpet and it has a plug coming out the right side labeled "OKI" and its not plugged into anything, does anyone know what this is or where it plugs into ?

ORIGINAL: Alih

another thing i noticed before when i told you the radio would cut out when i attempt to start it with the door open there is a box to the right of the accelerator pedal that i would hear click almost like a relay, im not sure what that is either [/align]
Does it sound like its in the lower dash somewhere? like straight in front of the trans maybe? With that clicking noise and your radio, it could be something with your BCM. I know i had some wiring issues in my old car, and when i pressed the hatch release it would cause that clicking noise in the dash, and i had problems with my radio on and the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) working correctly. As in when i turned off the car my radio would turn off, instead of when i opened my door.

Turned out to be a bad connection between the BCM and one of the plugs, the bigger one, that had the RAP and some other wires in it.. Try checking those connections, you may have to play with it a little. Mine was a 97 though, it had DRL's and a different dash, so im not sure if the RAP etc.. would be the same or not.. Never had any starting issues that i can remember though, then again it seems like the clicking kinda sounds familiar.
Just a thought..

No clue about the OKI-box.

Your starter may be jammed. If there were shims, they should have been put back. Turn on the headlights and try to start the car. If the lights go out or stay very dim when attempting to start, it is an indication that the starter is drawing a lot of current but getting no results.

I learned the hard way don't waste your time/money on a rebuilt inexpensive starter especially something so critical to your use of the car!

i dont believe the starter is jammed pete, it didnt have shims, not even when i took the factory one off.But im going to check the voltage going to the starter and going to the ignition switch.Well liberty i didnt have much of a choice as the starter died at my buddies house and i needed it to get to work the next day.
