Default Speedomoter offset: New 1999 Z28

Howdy folks.

Recently purchased a 1999 Camaro Z28 LS1 w/ a 6-speed. Originally, the guy who had it before us had a 4.11 rear end in it, but replaced it with a 3.23 before he sold it. Now, as expected, the speedometer is off.

How do I go about changing this, correcting this, fixing it. The speedometer, just based on my guesstimation, is 10-15MPH off, based on my father who followed me home.

Thanks!

Matt

Edit: I did hit up the search function, which works well enough, but I didn't/couldn't find an answer to it. I did try, though... just depends how well I searched, if I missed it.

I'm pretty sure you need a programmer for it. The name Diablo II comes to mind for an odd reason, not sure if its right =

is the speedometer a mechanical cable or is it electric. My son's 1999 SS Camaro speedometer is not working and wondering where to start.

The speedo is electric on these cars, you need a tuner or better yet the windows based HP Tuners program that lets you pretty much do anything you could ever want. You can buy it off Ebay for $450, but you need a laptop.

HPTuners is definitely a very handy tool. Well worth it.
