Question Slamming Sound Upon Hard Acceleration in SS?

I noticed a slamming sound yesterday towards the mid to rear of the car upon hard, abrupt acceleration in my SS -- could that be worn U-Joints? The car has 95k+ mi.

TIA

Most likely the tranny mount. U-joints will normally only make one loud noise then the car stops

check the trans mounts and the bolts on driveshaft all the way around... had the same issue, torn trans mount and that snapped a bolt on driveshaft, which was what was hitting the bottom of my car

Thanks to both. Darkknight, out of curiosity, how many mi. do you have on your SS?

This shop fest thread was the fix, so I assume it was the trans mount...

What me and my dad did on our 96 Z28 is put a cable over the top of the trans and bolted it to the cross member. We tore 3 trans mounts in 2 weeks, just from shifting from 1 to 2 while hot rodding. It fixed the problem and now I have to do my 98 Z28 cause it has a torn tans mount
