Default '95 camaro hard start, sluggish acceleration

1995 Camaro 3.4L S

Car is hard to start. If you try giving it gas while cranking, it coughs hard and blowsback. After alot of effort, it will start and seems to idle ok, but any acceleration/load bogs it down.

Since it has a powerful gas smell, I though it might be the fuel system.
Fuel pressure check came out ok with it holding at about 42.
After replacing alot of parts ( i'll list last ) I pulled the 2 & 4 spark plugs, they were wet with gas and I wasn't getting fire from the 1&4 coil.

replaced the coil. but it still has same conditions.

Currently I am getting 2 error codes.
#34 Map sensor low voltage ( i replaced it )
#82 3X reference pulses were not detected by PCM during cranking.
Does the #82 mean i need a crank pos sensor?

parts I've replaced:

fuel regulator
fuel filter
tps sensor
O2 sensors
map sensor
egr
ecm
plugs
wires

I can usually figure these things out, but this has me stumped.
I hope i gave enough info.
thanks for any help in advance.

I had the DIS plate tested today and it's good.
I'm replacing the crank position sensor tomorrow and for the sake of helping someone else, i will post the results.

Dunno much about the 6 cyl cars, but the cam position sensor could be shot too. The LT1's have one on the dist. not sure where it is on yours though, but that could also be acting up.

I replaced the crank position sensor, but still had same symptoms.
My wife said "don't put anymore parts on it"
I said "1 more"

Cam position sensor fixed it!

I was feeling pretty bad until she fired up. Runs real good now that its all new again.
Basically took me months, and a good bit of money to fix a problem that cost $40 and 10 minutes of time.

Thanks for the help.

Definitely sounds like a crank sensor. I'm not too familiar with the 3.4 so I don't know where your crank sensor would be located... But I would think it'd be right on the front of the block by the timing chain somewhere.

The cam position sensor is on the front/top of the motor. If you remove your coil packs, you should see the wires. It is held in place with a single bolt. Look up the part at autozone or someplace similar and it should give you an idea.

Its pretty ez to fix. Good luck and let me know if you need more info.
