Default shifter making weird noises

hopefully you guys can help me out. i have a 1995 z28 m6. when i start off in first gear and take it kind of easy, the shifter makes a weird vibrating noise. it is really hard to explain. it also does it if i "economy shift" and shift in a low rpm. any help? it will be hard to get an audio clip because my exhaust is so loud.

i think your lugging the motor. what rpm range is it. if u try to accelerate at really low rpms the engine cant do it then it chugs/lugs. that makes the motor vibrate which makes the trany vibrate. u useing regular gas?

well i know about the motor lugging/chugging when i try to accelerate at a low rpm. but mostly, when i take off, the shifter itself seems to vibrate and make a weird noise. this probably sounds really confusing. its like a deep "ehhh" sound. lol.

and i always run 91, 93 octane if its available

could be clutch is going. springs may be giving up. vibrating at a certain rpm rather than a certain speed would point to the clutch. some of it sounds like a u joint/s but that would not vibrate if the car is not moving or moving slowly. will at accelerating and decelerating at slow speeds. mostly notice a u joint at higher speeds. sort of a rumble and u feel it in the shifter but not the steering wheel.
