Shifter

Hello all

I purchased one of the cheap short shift rod and ***** from Ebay. My question is...how do I replace the old one with this one? Anyone have any experience doing this?
1998 3.8L

- 5 speed.

Just below the boot is the 2 bolts you see. I can not remember for sure But I think the plastic cover and the boot just pop up.
