You can and they will work but not as good as they should. Get the pivot and linkage from a 98+ car for best results. The angle of the attachment is a few degrees different and it could make the newer wipers chatter. The newer wiper linkage will attach just fine to the older motors.

I would hope so as Trico is the company that makes the wipers for GM.

Most part stores can get you the 24-R9 blades but most do not stock them any more as there are only 2 cars in 5 years that used them, and those cars are now comming on 20 years old. The 98+ models use the Trico 24-1 which is still widely used on many new vehicles today.

Talking Simple wiper fix

Since I did not see an easy answer to my question, here is the answer (for my 1995 Z-28): (1) go to O'Reilly's; (2) find TRICO 24-9R blade (3) take two to register, pay $28.00 ; (4) note sign offering "free installation"; (5) give the man some room to install.

Joking aside, this is my fourth set since buying car in 1996 and every one has been an adventure in finding and installing them. This time hardest in finding as many places do not stock them at all any longer.
