Default remote to pop your hood

i know they have remotes to start your car and pop your trunk. i cant seem to find a system that lets you pop your hood. i just thought it would be cool so does anyone know of a company that makes one?

I dont know a company that makes one but you could fab something up. Our back hatches already have that feature and lots of cars have a remote trunk pop. Maybe you could use something like that as a starting point.

yea i found a video of a saturn that could pop his hood. it looked like he used his trunk latch to do it. i just dont want to use my trunk hatch. and if i get another one i would have to find a way to send a signal to it so it would pop open. im not sure how i could do that.

I'm not sure but maybe an aftermarket alarm with 4 button remote could work if you did a little modification. Can anybody verify if this is possible?

Its a bad idea, have a bad unit or a stray signal from a unknown source or accidently bump the button and people die. Most likely why no one makes an aftermarket one. Just too much chance of a huge law suit.

Yeah, but not the most cost effective way to do it.

It could be set up to only work when the car's in park. The only major downside I can think of is not being able to open the hood if the battery goes dead, but a workaround wouldn't be overly difficult.

True, the trunk is poppable via key even when there's no power.
