Its not that easy. Local laws will not allow you to just set up and let people come to race.
Unincorporated county land that you buy is up for grabs. We shoot at my buddies house into a triple thick 5 ft tall brick wall and he lives in unincorporated county land with neighbors directly to his right.
Shooting is different from setting up a drag strip. You may get away with it for a while but when the state finds out they are shutting it down with one huge fine. To operate any time of track you have to be licensed for it and have all the correct safty gear and crews to support it. Dont forget about buisness lincese and state taxes, local laws and providing sanitation.

eh. Power block TVshowed a private owned strip. Everyone had to sign waivers and they had all the cleaning crews and staff and what not.

I've lost 2 friends to street racing over the years [:@] - When I was a kid, I thought differently about things like this - i.e. "didn't really much care". But you can lose everything in an instant - car, freedom, life etc. NOT WORTH IT!! Here in my town, Redding, CA, we have a local drag strip and lots of Friday and Saturday "run what you brung" stuff happening. They pretty much let any licensed driver run as long as your car passes a basic safety inspection. Guys typically bet 10-20 bucks on a run, but pinks?, not here - nobody here has that kind of money to throw away a car over one race - I sure don't.

Ah you guys are lucky.. the nearest strip to me that's open more than say once a season is in Minot ND. A completely different country. Or I could drive 3 and a half hours to Gimli. Not many drag strips around here.. so all us kids are forced to either drive far far away.. or most of them usually wrap themselves around a moose or something.
