Power Window Install Problem

Power Window Install Problem
I'm new to the forum and in fact new to owning a Camaro. I have a 96 RS Convertible and I'm currently trying to install a new power window motor (driver side.) The problem I'm having is that after I finish mounting the motor, I try to test it and the window doesn't move. I tested it before mounting and it works fine. I even removed it again and tested it and it still worked. What's odd is that I got it to move once when I tested it after tightening just one of the three screws. Then I tried again after all three screws were in and tightened and nothing. All I hear is a click but nothing moves. It's driving me nuts! Anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

was just the motor replaced? did you follow any of these instructions https://camaroforums.com/forum/93-02...gulator-64492/

Yes, only replaced the motor. I referenced various videos and instructions I found online including the second link on the thread you referred to in your reply. I noticed that one of the links on that thread shows how to remove the whole assembly (including the gear) but most of what I read indicated that I don't need to remove all of that just to replace the motor. Which is why I followed the instructions on only replacing the motor. Are there things I can do to also check the gear or other parts of the assembly?

Do you hear the motor running/humming? Maybe gear on motor is not engaged with regulator gear. I had that issue when I replaced mine. Thought I had it lined up and tightened the screws but that was just clamping down on the gear and keeping it from engaging. Had to loosen it and wiggle it around until it turned enough to mesh the gears. difficult working backwards and blindly. Just keep trying.

The motor could be in a bind. When I got my car out this spring, the driver window wouldn't work. I removed the motor, cleaned the dust from the brushes out and put the motor back together. It worked fine, but then wouldn't go up one day. I took the door panel off and started removing the three screws that hold the motor in. When I was on the second screw, the motor jumped like it was in a bid. I tried the switch and the window worked fine. It is a replacement motor to begin with, and the holes don't exactly line up. I left one of the screws out and it has been working fine. This motor is really tired and will be replaced soon.
