Please Help Starting trouble
a couple weeksago my 94 camaro LT1 had trouble starting. It would start then die right away andI would start it agian and everthing would befine. I new my dist was going out and i was going to replace it in a few days so I thought it might have something to do with that problem so I parked the car and got the part and just put it in two days ago. After I finished the car started fine and has run perfect until today. The carstartes upand then dies right away. And yes it has gas and its getting gas. dose anybody know if it sounds like a coil or pcm problem.
Thanks

RE: Please Help Starting trouble
I suspect the FI system is not holding pressure after the engine is shut down. There is a sticky in the LT1 section on how to test the FI pressure. You can also try priming the system, by turning the key ON & Off several times without engaging the starter. If the engine starts OK after the forced primes, the system is not holding pressure. It could be due to a bad pump, a leaky injector, bad pressure regulator, or an actual fuel leak.
Each time you turn the key to ON, the pump will run for a few seconds to prime the system and then shut off if the engine is not started. If the system is not holding pressure the first prime won't be enough to pressurize the system and allow the engine to start. If you force the prime several times the pressure will build up enough for the engine to start.

Agree with the above..but is the fuel pressure is fine it could be a coil/ pcm problem..... I am assuming that to install the dist you had disconnected the battery therefore resetting codes? I would check relays also...one may be getting hung up. If those look ok...it could be a pcm problem or even a coil/ ignition module issue
