my check engine light comes on once in awhile and the scan tool i have says its a p1406 and a p1406 with a small "69" symbol on the side....i cancel the code out and the check engine light goes away but once in awhile it comes on again, is this an egr valve issue?

 

yes pull the egr off and clean it up real good if that doesnt fix the problem it probably needs to be replaced

 

i also have a p1406 code that comes up i replaced the egr valve 2 times now because i thought maybe i got a bad valve the first time i still have the code has anyone else had an issue like this
