Default Oil change light

What else could it mean? I just got an oil change a few weeks ago and suddenly when I start my car the light stays on for a good minute or two.
Should I worry or is it probably a dummy light?

Turn the key to on but don't start the car and press the gas to the floor 5 times. It will reset it. It just has its own meter to let you know when to change oil

I gave you wrong information. I appoligize, That was for my silverado

Heres the right stuff:
Turn the ignition key to RUN with the engine turned off. Push the TRIP/OIL RESET button located on the instrument panel for 12 seconds. The OIL CHANGE light will start to flash to confirm that the system is reset. The reset is complete when the OIL CHANGE light goes out.

If you change the oil prior to the light comming on you can reset it just as Socom described even if it is off. Holding the trip reset button for 12-15 seconds will cause the light to flash letting you know the system is reset even if you just changed the oil and the light is off.

Just to let you know, the computer monitors your driving habbits and your average speed to give you your change interval. This will range from 3000 to 6000 miles depending on your driving habbits.

Your engine/system doesn't know when you change the oil. You have to reset the life monitor, even if it hasn't gone on yet.
Print this out for next time. Do you have a handy owners manual btw?

Wow I didnt know it could go almost a year before needing changing. I always thought that it put a mileage limit on the oil no matter what the conditions were... Maybe that was the Ford system I am remembering... Oh well good info!!
