my change oil light comes on when i start it up and then goes away after about a min and i was wondering if this is an automatic indicator when u hit a certian mileage because i had mine changed recently and was wondering how to get the light to go away.

 

mine does the same thing,,, havent found a solution

 

Yes, it's an indicator based on how many miles, and what kind of miles you drove (long trips or short trips). If you do a lot of stop and go driving, the change oil light will go on sooner, miles wise. Your computer doesn't know you changed the oil until you reset the light. Reset it after an oil change, even if the light isn't on yet, then it won't nag you at the wrong time. How to reset it is in your owners manual, if you have one.
