Newbie! 2002 Z28 need info
I just bought a 2002 Z28 Convertible yesterday for my 2nd childhood. The RPO codes UN0 & UIS indicate Delco Audyssey Stereo w/CD and a 12 disc CD changer. The radio shows a Monsoon logo. Is this correct? There is NO CD changer in the trunk, but this doesn't surprise me. I found the wiring cable on the drivers side. Can anyone give me a part number for the 12 disc changer? Ebay has some, will one from a Pontiac, Cadillac, Corvette work? I found a link to a parts catalog on this site but the link is no longer valid. Any help finding one? Also, RPO U59 says 8 speakers and an amplifier. I can only find/hear 4 speakers. One in each door and two in the back seat area on the sides just behind the door pillar. Where is the amplifier located, it isn't in the trunk. The fog lights don't work nor do the steering wheel radio controls. I'm trying to find the service manuals and wiring diagrams. Thanks for any help.

The part number for a 99-02 CD player is #25678544.
A convertible will only have the speakers that you mention, the coupe has eight.
It is located in the trunk on the right side, behind the wheelhouse and in front of the antenna.

I wonder how or why a Pontiac audio system got put in here, I was told the seller was the 2nd owner. There is a 12 disc changer available on Ebay. Now I just have to decide if I want to take a chance on it or modify the radio for an MP3 input I read about how to do on the Corvette Forum. Oh, and I did find that elusive amplifier, they sure did a good job of hiding it.
New problem. the security light is on. Any suggestions on how to find out what the culprit is?

may just need to clean the key bean contacts and spray some good electrical contact cleaner on the contacts in the key hole. also could be the resistor in the key is
unhappy and gone bad. look at 25, 26 and 27 here http://shbox.com/1/how_tos.html

Both the Camaro showroom brochure and the Chevrolet Product Guide list the Monsoon system as optional for the Camaro. According to the 2002 Product Guide, it was standard on the Z28. Is it possible the Monsoon sound system is a upgrade to the radio adding 8 speakers and amplifier?

Thanks for the info on the Monsoon system, I guess it belongs there. I don't have the UZ7 RPO code but I do have Z28 and the product brochure says it is standard on the convertible.
As for the security issue. I don't think the key or the resistor is the problem. #25 leads me to believe I would have engine starting and running issues. It starts and runs just fine. The Security light is fed from the BCM, but it has several inputs. I have read elsewhere ???? that there is a relay in the BCM that because of clearance issues can cause problems. Should I remove the BCM and have a look? Thanks for all the help so far.
