Whats up guys my names Kevin. About a month ago i purchased a 1999 v6 camaro 3.8 liter 5 speed. My car has 126,600 miles on it. Me and my father changed the oil, spark plus were already perfect, just your basic tune up. I really enjoy driving this car but I want a little more power out of it. I know people mention getting a v8 and dropping it in the camaro but if i ever decide to do that it will be in the future, but in the mean time I want a good intake, header , and exhaust set up. Can you guys recommend a good/ cheap set up for my car I want it to be faster and sound more nice. Thanks guys

OK Welcome to the forums. You can just about forget about putting a V8 in the car, search around here about that... Best to just buy a V8 car.

As for your wanting to make the car faster... Remember this your car can be, Fast, Reliable, or Cheap but you can only pick 2.

The 3.8L puts out a good amount of power for a V6 and in stock form can eat most stock Fox body 5.0 Mustangs. Trust me I know I have killed 3 of them so far. Now the factory air box is pretty good, get a K&N drop in filter, the silencer is kinda hookey so you may want to remove it in favor of a tube in its place. To do this you will prolly have to repace the lid to the air box with one that had a round opening and not the oval the stock one has. As for headers there is alot of debate here on shortys or long tube, but the winning brand seems to be Pacesetter for price and quality. Let see some pics of the car and again Welcome

Welcome to the forum!
I've learned all kinds of good info about my car from these folks.
I like the mileage I get with v6 and probably corners better than the v8.
