New engine
Honestly with newer engines that have a full roller assembly you don't need to worry about break in like you used to. Don't drive the motor too hard, but make sure the first time you drive it you get the motor fully warmed up so everything gets it's correct amount of lubrication and the rings get seated. Other than that, you should be good to go.
Regular Fram filters are crap, don't use them. If you use the Tough Guard filters they have a different filter element in them and do a much better job. I personally use the Tough Guard, they do a good job for the price. I can't remember where, but somewhere I came across an article that compared the different filters etc. and they analyzed the different elements and that sort of thing.
im definetly not a fram "fan" either, i read in another forum that the fram was made of cardboard and if u get moisture in your oil it tends to expand. it also said they had to dish out alot of money to consumers to fix or replace there engines. i personally wouldnt use one. thats just my opinion. u can get a k/n from jegs for 10.99 delivered to ur door, and they have a 1inch nut welded on the bottom of the filter for easy removal. thats what i use
