The easiest thing would be to put in another LT1. As long as you are willing to pay, there are shops that will transplant, just about any engine that will fit into the engine bay.

I wouldn't deal with that mechanic. It seems that he doesn't know what hes talking about. Your 95' Z28 should have a 5.7 liter LT1, as should any factoryV8 F-body from 93-97

thank you guys for telling me
I've got the original papers from the dealership confirming my car was a z28
when the mechanic told me it wasn't i got really depressed. especially since i didn't do enough research for my first car a few years ago when i was shopping around and had just turned 16, and just wanted a camaro with a v8 and a 6-speed and got the 95; thenfound out i could of had a 96 with an ls1 for virtually the same price. that took a while to get over also.

you better hit the books again and do more research because the LS1 wasnt in the 96 z28 nor the SS that didnt get dropped in till 98, whos giving you this incorrect information.1995-1997 they had a LT1 1998-2002 had the LS1

Haha, yeah, hit the books on stuff... Seems like you got a bit to learn.

That sounded mean, but it wasn't meant to be...

Simple. Does it have a v8 or a v6?
