Hi everyone I've got a 95 3.4 automatic that I don't know a whole lot about. I just bought the car and got a great deal on it. The only thing I've noticed was that there is play in the gear shiftier, I'll put it in reverse and it'll go into neutral but if I kind of wiggle it, it'll go in and drive fine. I don't exactly know but I'm thinking it is the shiftier cable or linkage adjustment on it that needs to be fixed. The car drives great and shifts good on the road, but when I get on the highway the check engine light comes on I don't know if the two are related but the car doesn't do anything out of the ordinary other than the problem with the shiftier. Does anyone know what it could be? I've had absolutely no problems with the car as far as the engine and motor so I was thinking maybe the shiftier not being adjusted right could cause the check engine light. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
