Default Need some feed back?

I have a 69 SS 427. I am looking to purchase something a little newer. I found a 97 SS SLP 6-spd. What should I look for? And what are some of the positive and negative aspects of this car? The car runs and looks great, but I am in uncharted waters with a fourth gen.

~Thanks, any feedback will help~

Might want to look for a oil leek on the back of the passengers side intake manifold, its a common problem but fixable with some tlc. Also might want to start it a few times to make sure it doesnt have a coil / opti problem.

Ditto on the opti. Ask how longit's been since the opti has been replacedand if that is unknown then plan on doing ainstall of a new one and while you're at it change out thewater pump. You have to remove it anyway to get to the opti and kill two birds with one stone. No use togo through all the trouble of doing a opti install only to have to do it again after a few hundred more miles once the water pumps leaks.

thanks for the quick replies. I am going this week to see if I can seal the deal with the car I really like it. It has 40,000 miles and is a car that me and my wife both like. I love my 69 but it is strictly a show car and I rarely drive it, I am exicted to get something that I can put a little more wheel time into. If there is anything else please reply ASAP because I am hoping to have the car by the end of the week. I am sure I will have plenty a questions after that.

~Thanks again~

X10!!! Oh and just a little more info on the 97. The LT1 is a very durable engine and should give you plenty of miles of driving fun!! Post some pics of the 97 also!
