? about removing the lt1 from the top
Since i dont have a lift i think the best way to go about getting this thing out will be from the top, can anyone tell me where i can find a guide on doing this so i dont screw anything up? Also now as m thinking about it where would be a good place to rent a cherry picker from?

if you have the room in your garage for the whole works, i would go from the bottom, you dont need a lift, you can use the cherry picker, use a heavy duty strap and pull the car from the upper radiator support, and have the rear wheels on drive-on ramps. its very easy and fast, you can leave everything connected and drop it out as one unit. as far as a cherry picker, go to any place thats rents equipment

I dont have a lo of room in my garage and my engine is already partly dissasembled (was jsut going to replace the head gaskets but decided to rebuild) so it is not running to be able to put it on ramps. If i drop it out the bottom i ave to deal with brake lines and the works and i would rather not go there yet.

it doesnt have to be running to jack up the rear and put ramps under it, brake line have to come off the abs pump, good time to do a abs delete w/ line lock, thats what i did. so if its all taken apart, whats the problem then? pull it out

There is tool that supposedly let's you pull your LT1 thru the top. Here's the link....Don't know anything more than what I read....As I'm sure I'll be eventuallypulling my LT out of my 97 Z28 when it goes out. I've only got 121k on it, and still running strong.
