Need Experienced Advice (Electrical)
In the process of making my 02 RS 100% again. Im having a problem though.
My windows only come up for about 2 seconds before i have to let them "charge" (it seems like). My locks do not work...there is the audible tones and i even here the "click" in the BCM but no movement to the solenoids. my remote keyless entry system does not unlock/lock the car but the lights do flash. Interior lights don't work. I guess im really wondering if all of these problem are linked together or not. Im pretty mechanically inclined but i feel this is beyond my skill so im asking for you guy's help. Thanks a bunch

The keyless entry problem is 100% caused by the BCM and by the sounds of it either one of the BCM plugs are not plugged in, there is corrosion on the terminals of the BCM or it is flat out toast. Getting a new BCM from GM will be the best bet, pulling one out of another car could cause many issues you dont want, especally with the security system. A new from GM BCM will be unloaded and will program itself to your radio and key apon first starting the car. Turn the key to ON and wait about 15 seconds before trying to start the engine. This gives the BCM time to register the new key and save the radio code.
The window problem is going bad window motors. If you pull up on the windows as you hit the button you can get them to go up most if not all the way before the motor overheats and shuts off again. Make sure to lube up the tracks really good when putting it all back together to help the new motor live longer.
