there was an aftermarket exhaust system for the lt1 that ive seen that had a single large outlet on the drivers side. i know because I got a good look at it racing on in my old mustang [&:]

 

Ive been wondering about this same thing my Z28 SS has only one large tip on the driver side, I thought it should have the dual tips and im sure the engine was never relplaced. I was thinking it might have been hit in the back a some time and the muffler was replaced it was always serviced at the dealerby the previous ownerand the muffler has a GM stamp on it.

 

yeah, mine has it on the drivers side...

 

My 98 came with dual exhaust with dual tips.

 

im gunna go with aftermarket as i noted above. the kit i mentioned there is also on the drivers side. i cant remember who makes it though.

 

My wife's 98 SS has a singletip on the driver's side. I know its original as we bought it new with a whopping 7 miles on it.
