Default My BIG future summer plans

hey guys,

this summer i am going to have a pretty decent job working with my best friend and his dad, robert bray, who owns TSI Global (http://www.bizjournals.com/stlouis/s...5/smallb4.html). well anyways lets just say that i will be making pretty decent money this summer. lol. i have big plans for my car...

but i will need some help and suggestions on what to do.

here are my VERY BASIC ideas of what i would imagine accomplished by the end of this summer with approximate budgets on each.

my friend will have a shop/shed with a hydraulic lift in it.

Procharger - supercharger - $4000 or so?
Cam swap - $600?
machined heads - $??
75-100 shot nitrous. - $??

i was originally really interested in getting a rear mount turbo from STS. i know it would be sweet and unique, but i think a supercharger will be even more badass.

i will probably have about 6 grand or so left over. and that i would love to spend on something like a 4x4 truck or maybe a GSX-R, R6, NINJA, or CBR bike. since my car will be so precious at this point, it would no longer be a daily driver. more like a toy.

i will add more to this as i come thinking of more stuff that i want

i just would like to hear your guys' input on all of this.
thanks!

EDIT:
i will be 17 at the time. i have good welding skills and older friends that will be helping me. this is my first real job so making 150 bucks a day is good for me. my parents DID buy my car for me, so i will be putting every dollar i make into this car. i do also have a 1991 s10 blazer 4.3 that can be my temporary car.

What mods if any do u have now? if your doin a power adder you prolly wanna invest in new headers, y-pipe, and catback if you dont have them now. if you run alot of big power mods your gonna have to get alot of the smaller supporting mods or else when you run the car little things are gonna go wrong.

hmmmmm

you mention installing power adders be it a turbo, S/C and even nitrous. What you did not do was clearly identify your goal.

If your goal is just to toss power adders at your engine then have it.

Is your goal to build a car that is street legal and will run 11's, and still get 15 mpg city then that is different.

Is your goal for a track only car that will run 10's then that is something else as well

It's all about what you want to accomplish. If it's for drag racing ( talk about an expensive hobby) then going from the 12's to the 11's and then 11's to the 10's, each carries with it exponential increases in cost.

So, may i suggest that you clearly define your goal and objective and many here will be able to share paths to get there. If you want low 11's or 10's, then be prepared to be shocked at how expensive it is to correctly build to do that.

Of course you could always just get a used Busa and do it on 2 wheels to satisfy the need for speed on the track.

I'd be remiss if the dad in me didn't suggest that you speak with your parents because maybe some of that $$$ could be used toward college.

yes i am sorry for not clearly identifying my TOTAL future plan. for now, since i will be in college in 1.5 years, it will not be all the way up top as an official drag/track car. on weekends and such, sometimes the local track has "midnight madness" and its open for anyone to come to, so i will most likely attend it. for now, it will basically be a car that i am slapping mods onto. i plan to keep this car for the rest of my life, and eventually make it into a 10 second car.

as for current mods, i do have decent supporters. SPEC stage 2 clutch. SPEC aluminum flywheel. Aluminum driveshaft from 01 camaro. crane performance coil. midlength headers, catback, k&n (which doesnt really matter too much because of the supercharger?) i also have good suspension mods all the way around including: BAER 13" front brakes, slotted and drilled rotors all the way around. BMR sway bars with poly bushings. SLP sud-frame connectors. SLP strut tie bar. BMR adjustable pan-hard rod bar. BMR control arms. SPOHN adjustable Torque Arm.

thank you for the input guys

heads and cam package from lloyd elliott or advanced induction(that alone will get you into the low 11's)

then i would throw nitrous at it if it were me. i don't like FI on stock motors. if you really wanna run a charger, whether it be super or turbo, i'd rather build the motor to be able to actually handle the boost.

thats why i was pretty much turning to you guys, to help me deal with throwing the charger on there. besides heads, what else would i basically absolutely need to keep with it? i know that eventually a bigger rear end will be needed if i really get into drag racing it.

rear end is one of those things thats always a possibility of being needed, even when you're stock
