Got my CAI, installed today...well mostly. You know the foam strips that come with it, are those supposed to be on the top or the bottom? I thought top, so I place them, and then the little bracket/liner thing doesn't fit. I had to rush to work, so I just threw in the filter and left the bracket out, but are they supposed to go on the bottom or top, or do I just discard the thing?

Also, I noticed tonight that when getting on it, I grind in second. First time I did it tonight it ground HARD, so much that I stopped from shifting it into gear...I went out and tried it a few more times, seems to happen at 3k and up when shifting hard. Even if I wait a second or two to shift at higher RPMs, it still grinds at least a little when going in. When shifting normally during driving, it doesn't grind at all. Doesn't squeak, anything. What gives?

I did, and they were pretty bad. I thought it meant the underside for only the rubber thing...guess I'll pick up some more stuff tomorrow.

Got the CAI installed correctly (I think) the other day. ended up scraping off the stuff and supergluing the foam down to work. Got everything back together, and while I can't exactly feel it yet (thinking the computer might have to adjust to it?), I think I can hear it (the little bit of air whistle/whoosh when revving high I'm assuming). I know I have it regardless.

Thinking the next thing I want to do is get headers. Gotta figure out clearance and emissions and all too...

^ Drive up at like 50 mph on a nice long stretch of highway, then goose the throttle -- you should be able to notice the difference... I would describe it as "pulling much better" at speed.

Tried it out today, noticed it (well, I've never noticed it being sluggish lol, but..), or at least it had the placebo effect. More in fourth gear around 50 then third, as third is getting on it anyways, and seems like it has extra pull in fourth. Can't wait to get some headers to make this thing really sound amazing at WOT. Really wished I had a longer daily commute to work lol.
