Default motor swap!!!!

i just finished up with my motor swap i have a 96 firebird and put a first gen motor in it and i have to say i read alot of forums and was begining to have second thoughts about doing this and to tell you the truth it was not to bad not easy but i thought there was going to be a lot more to it then what it was there will be more posted as this goes there are pics on my profile www.myspace.com/dre18722

Based on the pictures you have not gotten to the hard part yet. The LT1 block is pretty much the same as all the older SB. All you have is a long block with intake and headers installed. You should have put more of the motor together before you put it in. Its going to be a real bear assembling that in the car. I was just looking at some of my wiring harness, no way could I install that while it was in the car.

Looks like you have a good jump on this, most of the people that ask about the swap do not have access to a shop/hoist like yours.

all the motor needs is water pump, power steering, pullys, and starter the wiring should not be to bad at all i am putting a stand alone in it just the basics

Looks like it is going good from the looks of it. The big issue is going to be the ECU and wiring once you get the engine in there and all bolted down.

Plese keep us updated, I would love to see a bolt on EFI system. Is it going to handle the ignition? Do you have the distributer in it? What intake did you use that will handle a dist?

wiring is not going to bo to bad i had to cut some of the cowl out to fit the intake and distributer in so i do have enough room back there to work with the distributer is a msd 8366 and the intake is a holly stealth ram set up i bought the kit that came with the stand alone and the whole 9 yards
