To the OP, get what you want. Its your own money that you're spending. I can't imagine buying a car that I didn't want in the first place with my own money and regretting it later.

alright guys i think you may have chased him away. ease up on the kid. imho a 3.8 v6 would be a good start. less insurance, more power than stock 3rd gen v8's. and if you do wreck it its not a big loss, that is so long as no one gets hurt. i know my first car didnt last long. thought i was a good driver too and had to push it over my limit to find it. anyways once you get the hang of the 6er you can dump it off and move up. i think your parents would agree with this.

I think he needs to sit in one of these cars as it reaches that speed. It sure isn't the same as a vette or the new camaros. I know when I was that age I wanted the most amount of hp possible but I also didn't care how fast it went. I wanted the front end to jump up off the line. But I never got that. Got a v6 that'll one day kick v8 a$$. Any kid who say I want a car that'll do 160 is a waste of air. There's a reason why street racing is illegal. It kills. Don't do it and if you do don't post any help for how to win.

Hello. This is Connors dad. We already got him a 1995 3.4 v6 camaro. After reading his posts yesterday, we took it to a performance shop and had the governor set to 85 and the rev limiter set to 4500. Thanks for all the kind responses.

Thanks,

Justin

a 95 3.4L is a great place to start. He can learn how to drive, with a cool car, and when he gets some experience under his belt he can try it out on the track or autocross and learn there too before getting behind the wheel of a 13 second car.

This has been asked a million times. If you can afford a LS1 get it. If you cant then save up for one. If you dont have the money for a LS1 but want a 4th gen V8 right now then buy a LT1. If you dont have the money for a LT1 when you are SOL.

But for real do a search this has been asked on every LSX, LTX, Camaro, Firebird, and chevy forum for the last 13 years.

lol...i wonder if we got him in trouble with his old man.i know how pissed my dad would be if I was talking about going 150, and saying that driving my parents cars on my permit makes me a good driver. Cuz only god knows how he feels about my driving 6 almost 7 years later
