Default Lt1 or ls1

I posted already in the intro sec.

I want a camaro for my first car. I heard the v6 will do 125. Is that true? I also heard both the v8s can do 155. Will they do more or is that it? The 1/4 mile times are 13-14 sec. I want a faster car than that. Would boltons make them go to 160 and 12 sec 1/4??

Seriously you are 15, you are just learning how to drive, why in the hell do you want to kill yourself or heaven forbid some one else? Who give a **** about how fast the car is if you dont know how to drive it. And dont give me the crap about I know how to drive, I will call BS on that one, and I will win. If you want a Camaro great, get something nice and get a V6, learn how to drive the car before you try to race it. The 4th gens V6 will out run most 80's and early 90's V8s, the cars are easy to find. If you are planning on drag racing, there is nothing wrong with cutting your teeth on the 1320 with a V6, the 3800s bring in low 15s and if mated to an auto you will run very consistantly which will bring in the win. There is alot more to drag racing than being the guy that crosses the line the fastest.

Oh and have you ever thought about what your insurance is gonna cost you with a LS1 or LT1 car? yea have fun with that one buddy. A Camaro of any year is not going to be cheap and a V8 Camaro is really gonna hurt. Get a ticket with a V8 and you could easily be dropped.

Man Massey... I didn't want to type. Thank you. He's probably going to come back with something rediculous!

Get a 2002 v6 with leather, ttops, low miles, powered seats, put duals, Some rims, and maybe lower it. Now you have a badass sounding and looking car. I love my v8, but would prefer a v6 because I don't like all the vibrations since I daily drive it.

My friends have v6 cars... I want a big, bad v8 that goes 160. I'm also a great driver so you know, Massey. Maven, a v6 is too slow for me.

I agree with above posters and especially massey (I have come to respect him as one of the most knowledgable members). Im telling you kid, as someone who was there a few years ago there is nothing wrong with sticking with a v6, Maven hit some points nicely. Aim for an RS low miles an save up and either sell that or get an ls1 down the road.. Now if your gonna be stubborn I will say get an ls1, and it will be pricey to mod the car the right way. and it seems with your attitude well...I wont say anymore. I piggy back on massey's points and we will use this thread as a legal disclaimer. You are warned.

You are going to get killed or kill some one else or both. If you are worried about the top speed of a car before you can even drive them you dont need to be behind the wheel of anything. Stay off the roads where I live.

Seriously, if you find an awesome v6 with low miles an awesome paint job. You will have an amazing car. Then, pimp it out(in a good way). Also what Massey said, the v6 will beat most 80s and 90s v8 cars. And will beat v6 and 90s v8 mustangs. And it runs a 15 sec 1/4 mile. I really hope with whatever car you get, you don't break speed limits and try to go 160. You have a high risk of killing yourself or somebody.

Bullsh!t you are not even able to drive legally, I know you cant handle a car at speed. Hell I have been driving for 20 years and I am good but I dont claim to be great and I dont drive either of my Camaros at full speed, too dangerous.
