Default LED Brake Lights and Turn Signals

Has anyone Installed LED bulb replacements for the brake lights or turn signals?

I was reading on superbrightleds.com that on some vehicles, the turn signals will cause the dash indicators to report burnt out bulbs; because of the low draw of the LEDs. I was just curious if they would look brighter or more deep with red and amber LEDs. Thank You :-)

I have the aftermarket LED housings that are selling on ebay right now, and they work/look great. My car is too hold to have a dash indicator that reports burnt bulbs.

I was meaning the 'plug-and-play' replacements. For the stock Housings

These Styles

Too old? usually when a bulb is out, it blinks double fast when you use the turn signal on that side.
But ya never know.
Well, at least i never know

Oh, and how do you like those aftermarket housings?
any moisture issues?

If you think your turn signal is blinking too fast you can add a series resistor to increase the voltage drop.

When a bulb used to burn up it would just stay solid, and the other one wouldn't blink. I have since bought a new flasher that will blink at one speed no matter what. If you get one of those it will solve said problem I would assume. Green Arrow has the same lights as me, and had the problem described. He added resistors to solve it though. These lights are great, no problems at all. One thing I had to do to get them to work though, is swap my old taillamp sockets out for a different style. My sockets used old push and twist type bulb, where the plugs for these lights (the brake and signal lights) came as a wedge style plug.

Sorry, i forgot all about this post,

Last question then, do you believe that the LED bulbs are worth getting over the incandescent stock ones? I would imagine that they would be brighter and deeper red/amber. I haven't ordered them yet, but, if you think they are worth it in your opinion, I'll most likely get them.

Thank again, Blasko

Yes I believe they are worth it. I wouldn't go with a cheap bulb with just a few LEDs though. I would get some that have a lot of LED's, so they'll for sure be bright.
