If you're looking into a new intake manifold for an LS you should think about the FAST intake. If you want to go all out you can get the FAST 90mm, it's probably the best flowing LS intake out there.

i know it doesnt look better but my dad is an engineer could easily make something similar. But with short 1-2 inch intake runners and a massive hollow central cavity??

If not im getting an ls6 as they are reasonably priced but free is always better. The one my dad could make would be a comparable volume if not bigger than an ls6 but would not be moulded inside, just a hollow box essentiall with tubes running off. Im getting a cam then heads soon too. Would the hollow design be better than the ls6 i woner????

I would suggest sticking with the LS6 if you're thinking about that. The longer intake runners on the LS6 intake will probably net you more low end torque than the short ram style intake.
