Default Does this sound like a good idea? (air intake)

My camaro doesnt have any fog lights, I was thinking about taking off the frames that would hold the fog lights and finding/making an air filter that would fit on both sides, then routing it back to my K&N.

Does this sound like a good idea?

I'd say unless you live in a place that never snows, and keeps it's roads VERY clean.. I wouldn't. Too much chance that stuff can get in there.

Default ok, how about this idea.

ok how about if i kept the K&N filter and pipes on, then simply ran some pipes form where the foglights were and pointed them at my K&N filter.

Then you'll have a really dirty air filter.... That or a wet air filter.

The FTRA helps because they are right about our cars being bottom breathers and it keeps most of the dirt and stuff out. But if you're directing everything that hits the nose of the car to the intake, imagine what all you get on your grille.... That will be going into your intake

So you probably shouldn't do it unless your building a full race car, not a daily driver.

Also very, very hard to do from under the bumper area. i've looked at almost every possible way of running anything from the front grill to the intake and it's almost impossible. I remember step one was remove hood, step two, remove fenders, step 3 remove bumper. I went straight to step 12 - beer and said to hell with it. I did manage to get a twin intake under the car that worked very, very well. that was of course before it snapped and became mulch.
