hypertech tuner - not recomended
So,I went out and bought a hypertech tuning computer for my 96 lt1. For 400 bucks, im not impressed. I noticed a difference in the way it ran at an idle(smoother), but when i go wide openthrottle there is little to no noticable difference. When i changed out spark plugs to NGK plat's inoticed a difference, and they were only 40 bucks.
Not a recomended purchase if you ask me, oh and also, the guys at o'reilys misrepreseted this as being able to clear "check engine" codes, etc. I read the whole instruction manual and i can't find or figure out how/where it does that. The only good thing i have to say about it is, you can program car after car because it saves over your computer. So if anybody in the Des Moines area wants to feel 7 whole horsepower... Let me know maybe we can meet up and i could help your camaro/firebird be a little faster.
Anybody used one of these plug and play devices and had success?

maybe you should have done some research first, the consensus is that they are worthless

I would never run one. I still believe if you want more power you'll need to do it the old way.
