Default Manual transmission

Did they ever put a t-5 behind a v8 in a 4th gen car? If not can a 4th gen t-5 tranny be mounted to a bellhousing to fit a v8?

the T5 came in the V6 cars only in 4th gens, the V8 cars have a T56, the 3rd Gen had a V8 T5 , but there are 2 different ones a regular T5 and a World Class T5...if you are looking to put the trans behind a V8 get the WCT-5. i'm not 100% sure but i beleive the the T5 in the V6 5 speed 4th gen is a WCT5 , and you should be able to use a bellousing from a V8 5 speed third gen and use the V6 trans.

Are you looking at using a 350? If so the W-C t-5 won't hold the torque of the 350. You will need to go to the Tremac unit that is rated at someting like 400 lbft. I have a w-c in a 65 Mustang with a 2.95 st and it is rated at 325 lbft. The 3.25 unit was rated at 290 or 300 lbft. This was in 1996 so it may have a slightly higher rating now bbut still not near enough for an LT-1.

I have a t-5 and iam putting it behind a older style sbc 383. It came out of the 4th gen but the id tag is bad. I just want to drive the car bc i havent driven it for 2 years. I just need a bell housing to fit the 4th gen t-5 to a small block
