Default How to tighten 1997 Z28 steering

Hi all, I recently got a 1997 Z28, and the steering is incredibly loose. I have about 10 degrees of a dead zone, and I cant figure out how to fix it. I know there is a little nut/allen bolt that you can tighten, but I can't find it. Does anyone know where to tighten it? Pictures would be awesome. I really only need a temporary fix til I can afford a new one. Thanks guys.

are you sure its the steering box. tie rod ends are more common fail that lossens the steering. not a hard fix if it is tie rod ends. to confirm where problem is, get someone to bounce the wheel back and forth while your under the front so you can see where the slack is.

How to adjust the rack & pinion preload: 4th Gen LT1 F-body Tech Articles
Get under the car and have someone else work the steering to find the slop, as craby suggested.
Make sure the slop is in the rack itself before taking the time to adjust it.
