Default 97 SS plastic fuel tank?

Like the title says, I have a 97 SS and I swear the thing has a plastic tank, and it's not the first LT car that I've owned with a plastic tank..
Did the 97 SS have a plastic tank? Or did I get lucky and someone swapped an LS tank in there already? will get pictures tomorrow as I pull it.

'99 was the first year for the plastic tank. Good for 16.8 gallons vs 15.5 gallons

Sorry for the slow response, what I thought was plastic was technically plastic... Let's just say PO used a lot of Jb weld...
Anyway the tank was metal. Very rusty, and coated with Jb weld and pieces of a plastic tank.

New tank went in fine, now onto my second issue. Anyone have a set of NSA Roller rockers they would like to part ways with?
