How to Test for Plugged Catalytic Converter

To test for it you need to remove an o2 sensor and install a pressure gage and measure the back pressure. Anything over 1 PSI is a issue. Yours is most likely 3+ PSI. If you have access to a welder you can drill a 1/4" hole in front of the cat and do the pressure test there. In fact I did one for my neighbor the other day and the 1/4" hole leaked enough he could drive it after.
