Default How can I reprogram the courtesy lights?

The courtesy lamps in my 2002 stay on for 10 minutes after a door is opened, as it says it should on page 2-61 of the owners manual. with delayed Illumination (pg. 2-62) I should be able to shorten that.
I tried to enter Programming Mode using instructions on page 2-21 in order to turn on Delayed Illumination, but I can't figure out the procedure. To be able to remove the radio fuse (step 4), the door has to be open, which seems to cancel the process. When I turn the key to accessory, I hear no chimes.

How is it done?

No. I want the lights to time out in 25 seconds.

Did you ever get an answer on how to get into Programming mode? I also am following instructions but I don't get the chimes. I assume there is another step.

I guess rhe car is old enough to have issues that cost more to get fixed ( by a dealer technician) than they are worth.
