I had an intermitent problem with the left turn signal on my 84. Turned out to be one broken wire in the column for the switch. The tilt wheel would allow it to make contact once in a while.
On you lights do you have door jamb switches? I keep thinking it has the switch on the latch inside the door but not sure. If it had door jamb switches one may not be contacting the door so you just grip the end and pull out a bit and it adjust back in as you close the door. Or maybe you light switch is bad. I think that car should have that times circuit built into it so the lights stay on for about a minute after the door is closed.

no on mine it normally goes off as soon as the door closes, also when i step on the brakes whether the car is on or not both the headlights and the tail lights come on and it makes the bing noise like i left my lights on, i replaced the fuses and still nothing, but all lights blink when i put the hazzards on

Some one do a little fooling with the wires? Do you have an alarm that some one hooked into the tail lights and the head lights to make them flash? Brake lights are supose to operate independently of the head and tail lights. Maybe you have wires melted together some where.

yeah i think it might be the wire that goes into the fuse slot with the fuse for the "courtesy lights" funny thing is that when i unplug the fuse for that the radio doesnt work but the radio has its own seperate fuse

but no i dont have an alarm, but im gonna clean out the old diselectric grease for the bulbs in the tail lights and put new diselectric grease and see if that helps

well i can get all the outside lights to lite up, but now i cant get anything to blink at all, the headlights no longer turn on when i step on the brake, and the courtesy lights still stay on unless i unplug the fuse, i know its not the door jamb because the radio will turn off when i open the door

where is the flasher located ?

FYI the 2 fuses for the radio is normal. One is the main power supply that your amp's uses. Its a hvy wire that can carry a lot of power. That hvy wire is linked to your ignition switch and only turns on when the key is not in the off position. The other wire powers the clock and memory and is powered up all the time. You need them both for the radio to work. You do not want the hvy wire powered on all the time but you want clock to have power so 2 fuses.

The only way to fix a electrical issue is to chase it down but as you described it it sound like a text book example of a car that has a body ground issue or broken ground wire. When ground is lost the current will back feed thru thing like other bulbs and flashers and switchs and cause all kind of stuff that makes no sence. I have seen reverse lights flashing when the turn signal, on side makers dim with high and low beam just too many to remember. I has seen turn signal switchs fall a part insideand do some weird stuff but thats very rare.
