Default Electrical Problem.

So on my 67 camaro, when it's idiling and I turn the lights on the car almost dies, like it's drawing too much power to keep it running, Also when it's idiling with the lights on, and I turn the blinker or flashers on and everytime the flasher goes onand off the car will bog and almost die everytime. I think it must have something to do with the voltage regulator, so I'm wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem, or knows anything about voltage regulators, is there a way to test them? Thank you....

Default RE: Electrical Problem.

I am assuming you have an alternator. Check & clean all your cable conections, including ground cables, and wiring between alternator & regulator, if you have a stand alone regulator. If you still have problems, get your alternator, regulator, & battery tested. Also, sounds silly, but check your belts and for loose alternator pulley.
