Default i think its an electrical problem

ok my 91 RS with the 3.1 L has been actin a little wierd over the last few days. when im driving the amps on the voltage meter will jus drop all the way to like 6 amps. sometimes it will do that when i give it gas and sometimes when i hit the brake to slow down. it will even die sometimes when i slow down. but it will start right back up every single time. the battery is new and i just bought an alternator yesterday and its still doin this. im kinda thinkin it might be the MAF sensor (mass airflow sensor). at first i thought it was a wire grounding out but ive checked everything and there isnt anything grounding out. so im at a dead end road and dont know wat to do. any suggestions would be much appreciated.

THANX

The MAF has no effect on voltage. Look for loose connections, including ground straps.

The torque converter uses a clutch to lock the torque converter at highway speeds to prevent converter slippage and give better fuel mileage. The converter clutch must unlock when the car comes to a stop to prevent stalling out the engine. This is done automatically, but it could fail to happen for various reasons. However, this may or may not be the cause of your problem.
I would check the IAC valve (idle air control) and the TPS (throttle position sensor), and really check all battery and ground cables & straps for bad connections and shorts.
