Default Lights and radio Out?

Ok it's an 86 z28.
The other day I got in and was ready to leave; then the head lights and radio cut out and wouldn't come back on? All the other power options are fine; Wipers, power seat, and windows. the light doesn't react to the door being opened, and the voltmeter does not change when the light switch is pulled. I was thinking either a loose connection; it's not a common fuse all the fuses are fine.. I'm just confused because the radio and lights arent working, they shouldn't have been originally linked?
Any ideas on where to start with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

that is odd, unless someone spliced the radio into the lighting circuit. do the parking lights work, brake lights, signals? do the interior and gauge lights work? im guessing what you said about the door opening is that the buzzer doesnt go off?
