Do you think that permatex stripped thread repair it would do the job? It says its good to 128 ft-lbs of torque. That's a ton or strength. Worth a try??

That's what it's made for, and you don't (shouldn't) horse those bolts down anyway. If I were me though, I'd use a stud instead of a bolt which will help prevent wearing or stressing out the thread repair.

pick up a helicoil kit for the right size bolt. should come with the tap and installer with the coil. make sure you have the right size drill bit. very easy to do so dont make it harder than it is. dont break the tap off in the hole.
