Default Hatch

Well for having a stock stereo, my car has some pretty good bass, and it sounds really good until the hatch makes that annoying rattle. It's only on a few songs that have really high bass, so its not that bad at all, just wondering if I could stop it somehow. Also the hatch sticks out rearward about 3-4mm, I was wondering if its somehow adjustable.

You could remove the interior trim panel and leave it off. Or take it off, and put some foam tape on the hatch where the panel meets it, and put it back on. The hatch can be moved around if you loosen the hinge bolts, but is it that bad to be worth messing with? You'll be chasing the adjustment back and forth a little till you get it just right....unless you get really lucky.

Most songs dont have really "High Bass." Its LOW bass. Sorry, felt like I needed to add that.

High levels of bass.

And how do I remove the trim panel?

Going off memory from my old one here, but the panel should have some round pop-in trim plugs that you need to carefully pry out with a tiny screwdriver. The mounting screws are hiding under there.

I would probably just get rid of the trim. It may look like **** but thats most likely whats rattling. You could try, as suggested above, to secure it in a more firm manner using 5lb double-sided tape, but that may only band-aid the issue.

Or you can try a little insulation once you getthe panel removed. Maybe some spray insulation will take care of this just remember to tape off and cover the areas you don't want sprayed. A friend of mine had a old Blazer that rattled like it was going to fall apart and we took out all of the interior sprayed the inside of the cabin andI'd say we got rid of about 3/4 of the rattleing. Just an idea.

Okay good, thats exactly what I did, stuck a flathead up in there and hoped nothing would break.
I got it off and put some tape on and no it didnt really help.
But thats fine, its not like a listen to my music that loud anyway, that was just one of those things that bothered me... but would never REALLY bother me lol
