OK, I understand what you are saying, but I dont know what speedometer it has. I only saw the car once, and I dont remember. Is there anything in the VIN that I can use to figure out whether it had them or not? Im not trying to be annoying, its my fault for not wording my questions clearly. Thanks for trying though.
Not in the VIN, but if can ask the seller what speedo it has, you will get your answer.

Matt - Im glad you went that fast, but that doesn't help me.

So, if the speedo is 150, then it came with the z rated tires, which means there is no governor. right?

I have an 01 Z28 A4 and i was gettin on it last night and it governed at 115-120. Gotta say i was pretty pissed. Short of doing a pro tune, whats the cheapest way i can bypass this?

If it came with the Z rated tires, you have the 150 mph speedometer. If it didn't, it came with the 120 speedo.
Not true, all Z28's and SS's come with 150 spedo, and all V6's come with 120, although most stock V6s wont see 120, all Z's and SS's will. I had a 96 Z and it topped out at 145 with 3:73, and now I have a 01 SS and I have had it some where between 155 and 162, I dont really know b/c the spedo was bouncing

I have a 94 Z28 convertible with an LT1 which according to these threads is governed at 108 mph. It has the 115 mph speedometer. I would like to change this to the 155 speedo and what like to know what all that entails. I assume the speedometer has to be re-calibrated and of course I need to have the governor removed, right? I am new to Camaro's so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
