I'm strongly considering this SBF 302 swap into my 3rd gen. To the original poster if you have an automatic use this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TCI-529600/ Should make your life a little easier to be able to use the rest of you drivetrain. You would just need to fab the engine mounts really. Everything else should be pretty easy to use/convert over.

Why in the hell would you want to put a Ford 302 into a 3rd gen? Its way small, most Ford guys would like to opt for the 351 in their Mustangs.

thats sweet, xept id want to find a t5 or t56 to mate it up... i got a 700 but would prefer a more race ready manual shift.

and to you arguers... i dont stick to just ford or just chevy.. i stick to american! i just tend to gravitate tward GM cuz they seem to satisfy me the most..
& like i told my buddies in class, i'd take a 2010 V6 camaro over any STi, evolution, s2000, or turbo import any time, any day

You could also say that FORD is a 4 letter F word! Factory Ordered Road Debris, F'n Owner's Really Dumb... OK I have a few more but you get the idea. I have owned a few Fords in my time and I only have a complaint about one and that was my X-wife's 88 Tempo AWD. The trans cost more than 3 new cars. but the FWD trans only cost $600 for rebuilt. Anyway my first car was a birthday preasant and it was a 66 Mustang L6 with an auto. That car got totaled in a bad rain storm and I bought another 66 Mustang with the insurance money. This Mustang is a 66 GT, and that was when GT actually ment something special not just a V8 car. I ran it in the High School drags and pulled a 13.6 best pass. But I lost my next race to a 2nd Gen Camaro when I missed a shift.

This is the first picture I took of the car a few weeks after I brought it home. It is also the first day I started doing body work on the car.

About 9 months later, The car is winning awards at car shows.

But putting a 302 in a Camaro... Not sure I would go with that one and also I dont think you are going to have enough hood clearance.

P.S. I am the tall goofy looking guy, that was almost 20 years ago. The picture was taken in 1993!

Yea, I could care less for those people who are close minded and blind about doing the engine swap from another car company. Hell, if I had the money I'd rather just use an M119 V8. But I digress. I'm sure there would be a way for a "GM" T5 to bolt up since the Ford 302 already uses it in the Mustang.
