Default Fuel Injector Question

I pulled my fuel rail today to check my injectors. I turned the key to the run position without turning over the motor and at,least 5 injectors pulsed. I removed all of the connectors to the injectors and tried again, and no fuel came out at all. Is it normal for the injectors to shoot a jet of fuel when first primed? This is the second set to do this.

This seemed obvious to me after I thought about it for a bit.
Figured I would confirm it.
